Collection of your personal information

As part of providing health services, Odyssey Psychology collects personal information from you that is necessary and relevant to your treatment. We use the personal information we collect from you to ensure we provide the best-possible treatment. There are many aspects of this Site that can be viewed without providing personal information, however, any information sent through the online contact form or directly emailed to Odyssey Psychology may be recorded and stored as part of your client file.  

Storage of client information

The personal information we collect is stored electronically in a secure manner for a period of seven years from the date of your last contact with Odyssey Psychology, in which case it will be destroyed. At all times we take reasonable steps to ensure the protection of the personal information we hold. Odyssey Psychology will at times communicate with its clients by email, SMS, and video conferencing. Where possible this communication is limited to administrative matters and we take great care to protect your personal information, however no data transmission over the internet or otherwise can be guaranteed to be secure.

Research and sharing of your personal information

Secondary to providing treatment, Odyssey Psychology conducts and contributes to research that could potentially benefit clients in the future. Data collected during your treatment (e.g., questionnaires and outcome measures) may be de-identified, collated with other data (from within or external to Odyssey Psychology), analysed, and published and publicly shared by Odyssey Psychology (e.g., on the Odyssey Psychology website, on social media or other media platforms, or with other organisations) for the purpose of advertisement, professional development, learning, and teaching, transparency of clinical practice and expected client outcomes, and promotion of research and therapeutic intervention. You have the right to withdraw your consent for your data to be used for this purpose at any time.

 Cookies

A “cookie” is a packet of information that allows the Company server to identify and interact more effectively with your computer.

When you access our website, we send you a temporary or “session cookie” that gives you a unique identification number. A different identification number is sent each time you use our website. Cookies do not identify individual users, although they do identify a user’s Internet browser type and your Internet Service Provider. Shortly after you end your interaction with our website, the cookie expires.  This means it no longer exists on your computer and therefore cannot be used for further identification or access to your computer.
